JESSIE RAMSAY BAUER (nee WOOLER) 1922 - 2016 With sadness we said goodbye to Jessie, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend on December 13, 2016 after a long and full life. Jessie was born in Winnipeg, MB and was the youngest child of the late Mary and Thomas Wooler. She was also predeceased by her husband Henry, brothers Thomas and Sidney, a very special Aunt Isabel Halley, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Jessie will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Linda (Robert) Burfoot, Wendy Pass (Jeff Klebert), and Kenneth Bauer; grandsons, Glen and Brent Burfoot, Craig (Leanne) Pass, and granddaughter Lauren (Kevin) Csada. There are five beautiful great-grandchildren: Megan, Alix and Katie Burfoot, Brady and Grace Csada. There is one brother-in-law, Ernie Bauer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was educated at Assiniboine School, St. James Collegiate and Angus Business College. Jessie started her working career at C.N. Telegraph during the Second World War. There were many stepping stones along her career path including, J.I. Case, Winnipeg Hearing Centre, Harval Sporting Goods and many years in the Audit and Payroll Department at the Winnipeg School Division No. 1. Jessie was very active and volunteered for many different organizations; founding member and treasurer of the Winnipeg Association of Non-Teaching Employees, Isaac Brock Community Centre, worked diligently for her favourite political party and the Elmwood East Kildonan Seniors Centre. Mum was a great cook and many delicious dinners were enjoyed by family and friends. A lot of these dinners were consumed at their beautiful summer cottage that Henry and Jessie built at Jessica Lake. This provided her family with many wonderful memories of lake life. It was here the grandchildren learned to swim, waterski, fish and swat mosquitoes. Linda and Wendy were fortunate to have a very talented seamstress as a mother. For many years she was busy sewing our wardrobes or the many costumes for our dance recitals. If you needed anything upholstered, smocked, knit or crocheted, Mum was the go to lady. Jessie's arthritis limited her activities but not her spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her family, summers at her cottage, volunteering and aquacizing at Margaret Grant Pool with her friends. Eight years ago she moved to the Parkway Independent Living apartments where she made many new and wonderful companions. In December of 2014 Jessie moved to the Simkin Centre. The family extends their gratitude to the staff who provided unquestionable dedication, kindness and compassion to Jessie. Mum, you have left a wonderful legacy for your family. We were so fortunate to have you in our lives for so long. Flowers are declined with gratitude. Donations in memory of Jessie may be sent to The Fire Fighters Burn Fund, 303-83 Garry Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4J9, or The Simkin Centre, 1 Falcon Ridge Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1V9. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A family memorial will take place at a later date.

  • I worked with your mother at the Winnipeg School Division for a few years in the early 1980's. She was such a sweet lady with a kind heart and gentle way about her. I once visited her at your family cottage. It sounds like she lived her life to the end, staying true to her character.
