BRIAN ARNASON 1938 - 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Arnason on Friday, December 23, 2016. In keeping with Dad's wishes, son Shawn and Brian's twin brother Barry will be hosting a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on March 11, 2017 at the Pioneer Club, 32 Park Ave. in his community of Lac du Bonnet, MB. BRIAN ARNASON Brian Wayne Arnason, 77, passed away in his sleep at home on Friday, December 23, 2016 in Winnipeg, MB. He was born December 25, 1938 to Arnold and Winnifred. Brian married Marlene Herbert May 14, 1960 in Winnipeg. He worked as the Director of Finance administration at the Attorney General's Department for the province of Manitoba. Brian enjoyed golf, hockey, football, curling, and baseball, but most of all he got his real joy from family, friends and animals. Survivors include his twin brother Barry (Pat), sons Shawn (Kristine), Bradley (Debbie) and many grandchildren (six) as well as great-grandchildren (four). Brian was preceded in death by his parents (an older brother who died at a very young age), his brother Ken and his beloved wife Marlene. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Winnipeg Pet Rescue, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3K 0Y1, 204-832-7387.   • I would like to extend my condolences and sympathies to the Arnason family. I worked with Brian when I first began with the Province of Manitoba back in the late "80's. Brian was just the greatest guy and a terrific boss. I will always remember Brian for his kindness and generosity. The guy was always smiling, laughing and he was great fun to play a practical joke on.   • Dear Shawn and family, so saddened to hear of Brian's passing! Such a lovely man, always a smile when he saw us. He was a big part of the Pioneer club. I can see him so clearly coming to the kitchen (where I worked), asking "What's for lunch"! He and Marlene will be together now. We definitely will see you at the club in March.   • I was deeply saddened to read of Brian's passing. Brian hired me for my first job working for him in the Finance and Administration branch of the Attorney Generals's Department way back in 1977. He was a great person to work for and someone who showed a great deal of kindness and consideration to me as a young mom returning to the workforce. I have never forgot his importance in my career, which spanned over 35 years with the Justice Department.
