PRISCILLA (PAT) FOWLER-CARTER (nee TEMPLE) We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, stepmother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mum passed away peacefully in her 90th year on December 23, at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. Mum was born in Winnipeg on December 13, 1926 and was a life long resident of Winnipeg. She was the younger of 13 children. Mum will always be remembered for her big heart, generous spirit and infectious smile. She was always there for family and her church, St. James Presbyterian. She was active in a wide variety of charitable organizations which she enjoyed so much, including IODE, Meals on Wheels for almost 40 years, assisting at Oakview Place, driving people for CancerCare and helping Faraday School obtain books for their library and books for student awards. Every time we do a kindness for another, we will know that she is with us. Pat was predeceased by her husband Roy (1975) and Forbes Carter (2000) and by her son Andrew (2004) and grandson Edward (1992). Keeping her memory alive are her children, Judi (Tom), Larry (Gayle), Kathy (Gary) and Diana (Ken), as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her stepchildren, Allan (Catherine), Laurie (Donald), Brian (Kathy) and their six children and three grandchildren. The families wish to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their care and compassion for Pat. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3Z9. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. With Rev. Peter Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I got to know Pat quite well through my volunteering with meals on wheels for almost twelve years, she'd drive and I'd run and deliver the meals, she and I got on like peas and carrots. With her passing, I feel as though a part of me has passed away along with her, I will look back on my times with her delivering meals on wheels with happiness and know she will never be forgotten, I thank you Pat, for being a person with a big heart and full of kindness. - Posted by: Charles Pearce (Friend( and meals on wheels server) ) on: Jan 02, 2017
