Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOPAL AGNES LANGRELL January 20, 1923 - December 27, 2016 On January 20, 1923, Opal Langrell (nee Baldwin) was born the eighth of 14 children to Joe and Agnes Baldwin of Warren, Manitoba. In 1946, she married Ross Langrell, and they had five children, Jillian (Ashley) Richards, Lynne-Dell (Garry) Domenco, Clinton, Timothy (Joanne) Langrell and Deidre (Scott) Keddie. Opal had 11 grandchildren, Rory, Jody, Joel (Zoie) Richards and Erin (Paul) Humenecky, Troy (Stephanie) and Adele Domenco, Lisa (Wade) Wiesner and Jonathan Langrell and Brittany (Ash), Derek and Jaclyn Keddie, along with six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lauren and Morgan Humenecky, Maddux Domenco and Alex and Sam Canton-Keddie. Opal is survived by four siblings, Reta Allen, Cameron, Kelvin and Gary Baldwin. She was predeceased by her husband Ross in 1978 and son Clinton in 2004. Opal admired intellect and music. She played piano and spent many happy evenings playing music with her brothers. She took a writing course by correspondence when her children were older and went on to work as a reporter for the Stonewall Argus. Opal also wrote several books on the histories of local municipalities. After Ross' death, Opal travelled extensively with her good friend, Ray Jones, who also predeceased her in 1994. Opal was a devout member of the Woodlands Gospel Chapel and for many years held bible study in her home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to follow at Warren Cemetery. The family is very grateful to the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. We will never forget how Opal so graciously hosted our Bible study group for so many years. What happy hours we spent in her living room and around her table. We are blessed to have known her.
