Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL VARIS August 22, 1932 - December 30, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, and friend of many, Paul Varis, on December 30, 2016. Paul is predeceased by his mother, Tyyne and brother Dave. Paul (Popsi) is survived by his loving children, Laurie, Kelly, Tina and Jon, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Popsi was a caring and passionate person who enlightened our lives with his wry sense of humour, many entertaining stories and generosity. He lived a simple life, brought great joy to all those around him and rarely asked for anything in return. He was an avid fisherman who could not get enough time out on his boats, loved to play golf and teach others his favourite game. Popsi was a true handyman who loved to fix anything including his treasured golf clubs and fishing rods. This kind hearted and generous person will be sorely missed by his extended family and dear friends. A funeral service will be held in memory of Paul on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints at 707 London Street, Winnipeg. I worked with Paul for at least a decade with CTC. Back in the 80 s to early 90s. He was older than I, but could hold his own and then some when we got busy.I was always impressed with his good nature and demeanour. Paul had a good sense of humour and never, ever got angry or seemed stressed. He was a real attribute to work with and will be remembered fondly. - Posted by: Mike Black (Workplace CTC) on: Jan 04, 2017
