CORA LOUISE BELL Peacefully, with her family by her side, Mom passed away at the age of 98 years. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Bill, her parents, three sisters and a baby brother. She is survived by her four children, Darlene (Ken) Wilson, Ron, Jim (June) Bell and Debbie (Dean) Keating, as well, grandchildren Kelly (Mary), Craig (Phyllis), Kent, Shayne, Cher (Ray), Tracy (Todd), Carrie, Chad and Drew (Zita), and great-grandchildren Adam, Grace, John, Anastasia and Tristan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Palmer, SK and grew up on the family farm, helping out with all the chores until she departed for Southwest Manitoba at the age of 19. It was in Killarney where she met the love of her life. She lived a very full life and will be remembered as someone who enjoyed helping people and putting others before herself. Mom was very independent until her health took a turn two years ago. The family would like to thank the Thorvaldson Care Centre for the great care she received. Also to the staff on 4B at the St. Boniface Hospital. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My sympathy to Cora's family. I had the honour of serving Cora as her communion minister on Tuesday mornings while she was a resident at The Thorvaldson. I will always remember her expression, "this growing old is not for sissies". Be consoled in the fact that her struggles are over. She will be missed. May the Lord take her into his arms. • It has been many, many years but I remember the Bell family very well. We lived three houses away in a kid friendly neighbourhood in the west end. I am sadden to read of Mrs. Bell's passing. Sincere condolences to the Bell family. Margaret (McCann) Chase - Posted by: Margaret (McCann) Chase (Former neighbour) on: Jan 06, 2017

  • Deepest condolences to the family. Mrs. Bell was a wonderful lady and will surely be missed. Rest In Peace - Posted by: Lavinia and Greg McGuire and Family () on: Jan 06, 2017

  • We share in this time of grief but also share in the love and memories of Cora. She will be fondly remembered as a good friend and a wonderful neighbour. Our deepest sympathy. • Myra and I send our thoughts to the family of Cora. We lived three doors down from Cora and Bill on Barratt Avenue and always enjoyed impromptu "backyard" visits with them. They were both so kind and thoughtful and they never passed up a chance to visit, which we appreciated. You will never forget your loved one(s) but it will get easier to remember the good times. - Posted by: Val and Myra (Former neighbors) on: Jan 06, 2017
