Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH FLOYD BJARNASON 1931-2017 Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 2, 2017, Ken Bjarnason passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was 85 years of age. Remembered with love, he will be deeply missed by Mildred, his wife of 57 years; their children, Lise (Walter), Halldor; grandson Elliot, and extended family members. Ken spent many years working at CIBC. He retired in 1990 from his position as a Special Loans Officer. He loved bridge, ballroom dancing, reading, cooking, travelling, playing with his grandson Elliot, and a good martini. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Interment will occur in the spring. Ken supported many charities throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Ken's honour to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the 4B Family Medicine staff at St. Boniface Hospital, who treated Ken and his family with such kindness. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.

Dear Mildred, and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I just heard yesterday of Kenneth's passing. I will never forget the amazing meals created by Ken that I was fortunate to have enjoyed while looking out over the city. I still talk about how he could get every carrot perfectly square in exactly the same size. Mildred Haldor, Lise, Lorraine & families. Thinking of you and sending our love & sympathy.Lorraine Ken & their mom Kathleen lived in Brandon and spent some of their summer holidays with my family on a farm in Gilbert Plains so have many great memories also our last trip to Victoria we played bridge til it was time to catch our flight to Flin Flon. I have many fond memories of times with Ken at work and socially. Especially at bank events where both Verna and I enjoy our times with you, Mildred and Ken.
