FLORENCE GALAY It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Florence Isabelle Galay on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home. She died peacefully and gently as she had lived for over 97 years. Florence was much loved by her two sons and two daughters, Allan (Victoria) Galay, James (Linda) Galay, Maryann (Jerry) Warga and Gladys Galay; five grandchildren, Jeffery Warga, Michelle Gervais, Nicole Gervais and Kevin Lacombe, Sean Galay and Ashley Barnes and Joshua Galay; as well as her three great-grandchildren, Tyler Beresnikow, Jeremy Galay and Ryder Galay. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicola Earl Galay in 1991 and her four sisters, Grace Clark, Gladys Attwood, Margaret Pearson and Emma Holmstrom. Florence and Nick farmed in Glenmore, Manitoba. She was famous for her gardens and her cooking; especially her baking. She won many prizes at the Beausejour Fair including the cake decorating, biscuits and butter tarts. When they retired from farming, they moved into Selkirk, Manitoba. Florence was a talented, artistic person who painted, sewed, knitted, quilted and crocheted. She worked for years as the 'craft lady' at Red River Place and as a volunteer and coordinator at the House of Economy. A celebration of Florence's life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg.
