DARLENE PALIDWOR (nee MALTMAN) It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Darlene in her home at the age of 63. Darlene is survived by her children, Kerri, Jason (Angela) and Darryl; siblings, Christine, Barbara, Debbie, Susan (Keith) and Jamie (Cathy) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Eldon (Anne); mother Lois (Nick); as well as her beloved dogs, Peter and Oggie. Darlene grew up in Anola, attending school in Oakbank where she made many lifelong friends. She played baseball and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Being raised in a home full of sisters, she had built in best friends; these relationships remained strong her entire life. As an adult, caring for her family was most important to her and she loved watching her children grow up. She enjoyed baking cookies for her children's friends and although she wasn't a true Ukrainian woman , she made the best "bullets" and perogies, she delighted in feeding her family. Darlene was a registered nurse for more than 35 years and took great pride in caring for patients, family and friends in need. Being a nurse was her calling and she enjoyed every moment of her career. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved watching them achieve many accomplishments. She especially loved to receive amazing crafts from Logan, watching Liam play hockey, Ana play baseball and little Olive playing and running around. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent in OakBank. A celebration of Darlene's life will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church at Pine Ridge, Corner of Garven Road and Highway 207. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darlene's memory to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
