ROBERT GOUSSEAU
Date of Passing: Jan 11, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT GOUSSEAU 1936 - 2017 Surrounded by his beloved family, Robert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the age of 80 years. Robert is survived by his loving wife and lifemate of 57 years, Marie-Adèle Gousseau (Philippot), his children, René (Darlene), Richard (Anna), Normand (Alice), Michèle Buissé (Aimé), and Carole Morin (Gilles). He also leaves his much cherished grandchildren, Joel, Christine, Danielle, Cédric, Zacharie, Patrick, Colin, Janelle, Aimé, Chloé, Danick and Chantelle, as well as three great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Carter and Jonah. Robert also leaves to mourn his brother, Ovide (Jeannette) of Winnipeg, as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Henri and Alice Gousseau, his sister Lucille and brother-in-law Pierre Courcelles. Dad was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Family was of utmost importance to him. It was this love of family that inspired him as he cheered at many of his grandchildren's sports games and coached his sons in hockey. Dad was always quick with a smile, loved to laugh and never backed down from a good debate. He had very strong values which he made sure to instill in his children. Robert grew up in La Salle and as a young man, helped on the dairy and family farm. In 1959 he married Marie and operated the family farm until his retirement in 2000. He worked hard and played hard. Dad loved curling, golfing, camping with his family. In his retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed to dance, to travel and a good card game. The family would like to thank Dr. Permack and the staff of Victoria General Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion given to our father. A celebration of our Dad's life will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr. in Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6 (phone 888-473-4636).
