I worked with Ray at GWL for 7 years. We both graduated from U of M with Bscs in 1965. We went through the computer programming course together and, as everyone here says, he was hilarious and we had many fun times-- Friday noon lunches that extended well into the afternoon, curling parties with silly costumes. Ray once dressed up in my Dad's long underwear as a bunny during The GWL Curling Bonspiel!!! My belated condolences to the family. Carolyn - Posted by: Carolyn Greeniaus (Friend) on: May 02, 2017

Many great and wonderful times with Ray over the years with projects at GWL and at arenas, baseball diamonds, and parking lot hockey. Thanks for the memories and laughter, Ray, and our deepest condolences to Bev and the entire MacLennan clan. - Posted by: Bruce and Pat McBeth () on: Jan 18, 2017

I was so saddened to hear of Ray’s passing. I was Ray’s secretary at Great-West Life for close to ten years. He and I had a great rapport. He had such an fabulous sense of humor and much of our time (possibly too much!) was spent laughing. Coming to work was truly a pleasure. Bev and family – so sorry for your tremendous loss. - Posted by: Sylvia Horn (Coworker) on: Jan 17, 2017

After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. Our condolences. - Posted by: Hadi & Lamia Zahedi () on: Jan 16, 2017

My heartfelt sympathy to Ray's family. Ray's laugh was infectious, and a true caring individual when it came to those who worked for him. “Strange is our situation here on Earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the sake of other men - above all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends.” - Albert Einstein. Thanks Ray for providing those smiles to so very many. Until we meet again... - Posted by: Bob Mensforth (Worked for him at GWL) on: Jan 15, 2017

Scott and Family: I was so sorry to hear about your father's passing. It has been many years since I have had the privilege of seeing your mom and dad but what I remember about them was their friendliness and smiles and how they were so devoted to their family. His smile could lite up a room. Again, Scott, so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Judy Cooke () on: Jan 15, 2017

Sincere sympathy and condolences to the entire Mclennan family at this most difficult time. Ray was not only the VP of Operations at GWL but he was a true friend to everyone who had the opportunity to work for him. Ray was a very special person, heart of gold and cared for each and every one of his employee's well-being. A true gentleman on a curling sheet of ice. Sending warm hugs to all of you at this most difficult time. RIP Ray..my friend. - Posted by: brent mackie (GWL employee until 1991) on: Jan 15, 2017

Our hearts are with you all during this sorrowful time. There are no words that can express the sadness we feel over this very sudden loss. Please know we grieve with you and that we are here for you to lean on for strength and comfort. "When you speak of Ray speak not with tears, for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort, for his life was rich because of you.” Author Unknown - Posted by: Carole and Garrett (family friends) on: Jan 14, 2017
