I just came across the news. It's terrible to hear about your loss and I express my sincere sympathy to you and your family. I've only spent time with her when I was younger. I was searching Gledhill on web cause I needed some family history from my other side family (Gledhill) as I am a Ballantyne who was recently diagnosed with cancer. I was just thinking of her and my dad (Bernard) so this comes as bad news to hear and once again I'm sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Vanessa (Granddaughter) on: Jul 10, 2018

Growing up on Collegiate Street, the Gledhill family was a staple. Ruby always kept an eye on all of the children in our neighbourhood, to make sure that we not only behaved but became better people in the process. Thank you Ruby! You truly were a GREAT NEIGHBOUR!!! It was a delight growing up in your presence!!! - Posted by: Charlene Wicks (nee Ryall) (Collegiate Street Neighbour) on: Feb 03, 2017

Sadly, the world has lost an extraordinary woman. As the woman I always wanted as my own mom, she will be in my heart and on my mind. To Uncle Ronnie and cousins, my heart breaks for you. May your memories give you peace and comfort your broken hearts. Someone so special will never be forgotten. Lucky Bernard and my dad (Len Crook) to be reunited with her. - Posted by: Diane Lodge (Crook) and family (Niece) on: Feb 01, 2017

From the Steer family in Vancouver We wanted to tell you the whole family are thinking of all of you and wishing you peace. Your mother made Collegiate Street the best place to grow up. It was a real neighborhood and Ruby was one of those special people who gathered people around for tea and coffee and chats. Christmas was always fun as all the neighborhood ended up there for a fun time after church and Mrs. Ryall's delicious food. Will never forget your mother. She is and was a genuinely lovely lady. - Posted by: Cindy Steer (neighborhood friend) on: Jan 30, 2017

i wish I could've seen you one more time, it's been so long I have beautiful, warm memories that I cherish from our many trips to Winnipeg. Some of my best childhood memories were at your house. To my Uncle Ron & all my cousins, I'm so sorry, I know how painful this is. Sending you lots of big hugs. Until we meet again Aunty Ruby xoxo - Posted by: Donna Pocekovic (Crook) (Niece) on: Jan 20, 2017

My most sweetest Auntie like Mom when I was growing up. Warm and Cuddly. Wow, I'm glad that we had spoken on the phone together last year Auntie Ruby. You would have the Crook / Gledhill family parties that were huge & riots of fun when we were visiting from Vancouver every two years. You were and still will be best. Me and Darlene loved Your Tomato sandwiches. I'm glad you are in peace now and I'm sending my warmest hug's to all of the family. - Posted by: Lynda Crook (Niece) on: Jan 18, 2017
