VERNA JOYCE RICHARD With great sadness we announce the passing of Verna Richard on January 17, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Verna passed peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 59. Verna was born at St. Boniface hospital on December 24, 1957. She will be fondly remembered by her sweety Brian Stemkoski; her children, Rene and Sabrina Richard; her siblings, Debbie Bolduc, Candace Morden, Paddy Voss, Lloyd Morden, Wendy Dheilly, Glenda Gagne, Tammy Cote; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother Glen (1977), mother Dorothy Morden (1980), husband Maurice Richard (1993), father Claude Morden (1993), and partner Ernie Neufeld (2004). Mom was well known in the community for working at the Elm Creek Co-op and the post office; taking the time to talk to each of her customers and knowing them by name. Verna's caring, compassionate nature was extended to everyone she met. Funeral services will be held at Elm Creek Community Hall on Saturday, January 21 2017 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so wish donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Siloam mission in mom's memory.
