Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JACK STUERMER With his family by his side, Bob passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the age of 57 at Riverview Health Centre. Following a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma and Plasma Cell Leukemia in October of 2015, Bob fought courageously and with good spirits. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Elsie and his dear brother Jim. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Lori; daughters, Kristin and Courtney; his sister June (Ron) Stroich; mother-in-law Jean Cross; sisters-in-law, Debbie Stuermer and Lynn (Steve) Doyle; as well as multiple nieces and nephews and their families. Bob was caring and unselfish and has touched the lives of many family and friends. Even in his final days, Bob was finding pleasure in spreading "fun" and getting a laugh out of those around him. He spent the days following his retirement getting more handsome every day and making sure that those he was leaving behind would be well taken care of. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Centre for all of their kindness and care during this difficult time. Friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

I was introduced to Bob when he started work in the Provincial Government Information Technology group in March 2008. Both of us were Customer Relationship Managers and staff including myself were asked to provide Bob some orientation to his new position. As a result, I got to know Bob and over time we developed a close friendship. I considered Bob one of my best friends both within work and outside. Bob was always up beat and had a great sense of humor. Even after he was diagnosed in October 2015 he still had a positive fun loving attitude. Bob was a great listener and often provided sage advice. This served Bob well working in Government and I am sure in his private life. If I every had a problem and needed to brain storm with someone I would turn to his council. After I retired from Government in November 2015, and did not see Bob every day, we would exchange phone conversations every couple of weeks. Bob was so easy to talk and was genuinely interested in what was going on in your life. Often our phone discussions would last well past an hour. We would also routinely get together for lunch and play snooker in the evening with our mutual friends. I personally will miss Bob greatly and I consider myself lucky to have known him. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family as they deal with his passing. - Posted by: Glen Collins (Co-worker & Friend) on: Jan 24, 2017

It was my good fortune to have worked with Bob on three different occasions - first at Macleods in the 1980s, at Provincial Property Assessment 10 years later, and then with the Provincial IT group 10 years after that. Bob was always a class act, friendly to everyone, hard working, and was always able to come up with solutions that were acceptable to all parties. His presence will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family as they work through his passing. - Posted by: Larry Phillips (Co-worker) on: Jan 21, 2017
