COLLEEN FAYE FERGUSON (nee STANGER) January 18, 2017 - aged 65 It is with overwhelming sadness we announce the passing of Colleen after a courageous battle well fought. With family and friends around her she passed on to find peace at last. Colleen was a beloved Mamma, Grandma, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She will be deeply missed. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Jennifer, grandson Finn, mother Audrey; siblings, Michael, Barbara and Andrew; nephew Zachary; nieces, Sarah and Abigail; sister-in-law Natalie, Jennifer's partner Kristjan and her beloved fur baby Charlie. Colleen was predeceased by her father Walter and numerous aunts and uncles. Colleen was born in Winnipeg, where she lived her entire life. She completed High School and later attended Red River Community College. She worked for a number of years and then became a wife and mother. At the age of 35, wheelchair bound and as a single parent, Colleen attended University of Manitoba, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours. Colleen was fearless with unfathomable strength, persevering and living life to the absolute fullest. Colleen loved her family more than anything. She was the family stone that drew everyone together often hosting lavish parties at her home. Colleen liked the finer things in life and her generous spirit made sure that everyone else did too. Her thoughtfulness and compassion knew no bounds. She was a movie aficionado and lover of music and the arts, frequenting the ballet, theatre and the Fringe Festival. Colleen was an adventurer and lover of the outdoors, happiest at Rushing River and Banff, but especially with her family at the cottage sitting on the dock. Many thanks need to go to her friend Cheressa for all the care and support she provided. Many thanks also need to be given to the River East Hospital Home Team that allowed Colleen to stay in her much-loved home for as long as possible. A celebration of Colleen's life will be held January 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Britain United Church at 5879 Main Street (Highway 9). Following the service a gathering will be held at the church hall. If you're lost you can look and you will find me Time after time If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting Time after time If friends and family so desire, donations can be made in Colleen's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was very sad to hear of Colleen's passing. She was a very kind person and was always welcoming to me. Have fond memories of when we were young and family gatherings. My husband Gordon recently passed away and people have said to me you have the wonderful memories - what would have been nice is to have those memories for another 10 or 15 years. My condolences to everyone in the family and especially Jennifer. Love Maggie - Posted by: Maggie (Maureen ) Chabbert nee Stanger (Cousin) on: Jan 23, 2017

  • Colleen and I spent 14 years together. She was a very smart, strong person. We laughed together and we cried together. Back in the day one of her favorite songs was "Send in the Clowns", how very ironic. Bon Voyage Con. - Posted by: John Ferguson (Friend from Days Gone By) on: Jan 22, 2017

  • As always when someone has a family member pass it affects everyone. Our thoughts and wishes are with all of you in this trying time. - Posted by: Geratol Angels (Friends) on: Jan 21, 2017
