RAFAEL ALEDIA PURIFICACION On January 17, 2017, Heaven gained a beautiful soul in the passing of Tatay Paeng. There he joins daughters Natalia Esguerra and Cely, and son Rolando. A man of few words, Tatay was loved by all, especially by his wife of 71 years, Gertrudes Purificacion (Nanay Udeng). We will miss him greatly and we are forever grateful for the time our lives were graced by his beautiful smile and gentle soul. At 93 years old, Tatay leaves behind his greatest wealth, his family: In Canada, daughters Elvira Bautista (Rolando), Lucenia, Eva Villanueva (Roberto), Fely Bennett (Russell), Maria, Meliza and daughter-in-law Omega; in the Philippines, daughters Soledad Cabanas, Priscila Manalo and Ligaya Paras; and in the USA, daughter Cecilia DeLeon (Rodolfo). Tatay's legacy will live on through 30 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren scattered throughout Canada, Philippines, New Zealand, USA and Dubai. We wish to thank everyone for the love, support and compassion they have shown us. Special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for the great support and care given to our Tatay. We will celebrate his life (Lamay) at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Saturday, January 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (memorial service at 8:00 p.m.) and Sunday, January 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (memorial service at 7:00 p.m).
