Date of Passing: Jan 23, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA JANE FALVO Lena Jane Falvo passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Grace Hospital on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Mom is now at home with her Saviour. Jane was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Joseph, who she met while bowling one night on the opposing team in Red Lake, Ontario. She loved dancing, walking, knitting - especially for the elderly and new mothers, music, singing, spending weekends at the Spruce Sands and having girls weekends. Jane was a great cook and everyone looked forward to her famous Sunday spaghetti dinners. We called her "our little Diva". Mom had spunk and a mischievous sparkle in her eye. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Cathy, James, Betty (Arny) and Joe (Mary), and her granddaughter Sarah. She is also survived by four of her 10 siblings: Donald (Marie), Margaret, Betty (Henry) and Mary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the entire staff on the 5th floor North and a heartfelt appreciation to Dr. George for their kindness and care to Mom and our family. We would also like to extend a thank you to the wonderful staff at Calvary Place, who cared for Mom in her final year. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street. A private interment will take place at a later date at the Transcona Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made in Jane's memory to a charity of one's choice. Desjardins 204-233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Falvo family!! I have very fond memories growing up in Transcona and spending a lot of time at the Falvo home. Jane was always there for her children and loved her family so very much. She will be truly missed -- may god bless the family during this difficult time! A kindhearted, quiet and gentle soul is how I will remember my dear Auntie Janie. She was soft spoken and always had a positive outlook on life. Although she spoke very little over the past few years she always seemed to get her point across with a gesture. My last visit with Auntie Janie was filled with laughter and infectious smiles that lit up her special room at Calvary Place. I always enjoyed seeing her at family gatherings and knew that I could always count on her to make the get together that much more memorable. Auntie Janie, you will be missed but I know you are now celebrating with family and friends that have passed before you including the love of your life, Uncle Joe. Rest in peace.
