STANLEY WILLIAM SWANSON SR. October 23, 1928 - January 20, 2017 Dad quietly slipped away with dignity and on his own terms. Predeceased by loving wife Anne, parents Ellis and May, and sister Aileen. Survived by four sons and their families; Stanley Jr. (Jan), Roger (Karen), Gary (Christine), Greg (Tracey); grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sherry (Ian) Dean, Connie, Genny (Brad) Georgia, Anna (Jason), Ryan, Lisa-May (Chris) Norah, Margot, Danny (Joanna), and special sister Jackie and her husband Nelson. Dad was active in the mineral exploration business for 48 years and remained passionate in retirement often asking for updates regarding the business. The family wishes to thank the many compassionate healthcare professionals whom cared for dad over the years. Thanks to the staff at the Deer Lodge Hospital whom helped dad recover from a devasting stroke which enabled him to stay in his own home for a few more years. You are all miracle workers! Our deepest gratitude to all of the staff (family) at Oakview care home, which dad called home for his last 14 years. Your caring and compassionate hearts truly enriched dad's life. Dad had a very special spot in his heart for animals. If so desired, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
