Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRIITTA KELONEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Riitta (Ritu) Kelonen on January 26, 2017 at the Grace Hospital Hospice. Riitta is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Heikki (Heka) Kelonen; her twin brother John (Tiko) Jordan (Louise); and relatives in Finland. She was predeceased by her daughter Kirsi Kelonen Gray, the light of her life, her parents Meeri and Otto, her sister and brother-in-law, Seija and Henry Manthey. Riitta was born in Viipuri, Finland on May 11, 1939. In 1964 Riitta and Heikki experienced their greatest joy at the birth of their beautiful daughter, Kirsi Ann who brought them incomparable happiness through her 22 years. Sadly, far too soon Kirsi was called to Heaven and left us all devastated. Riitta was employed for 20 years with the Hudson's Bay Company. Riitta and Heikki enjoyed many summers with friends at both Falcon Lake and Point du Bois. They frequently travelled to Finland to visit family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on Wednesday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Lurvey officiating.
