EVA KATHLEEN PEDERSEN (nee STOCKS) November 4, 1920 January 18, 2017 Eva was born in Carman, Manitoba on November 4, 1920 the seventh of eight children and was raised on the family farm near Roland. She was predeceased by her husband Marven in 2000 and three brothers, Keith, Clarence and Ivan and three sisters, Marion, Jessie and Jennet. She is survived by her sister Marguerite; five sons and their families, Jim (Vickie); Lennard (Ann); David (MJ); Blaine (Dianne) and Carl (Lana); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom came to work at the telephone office in Elm Creek where she met Marven and they married on June 18, 1946. With her never-ending patience, Mom raised five boys (she said her daughters came later), kept a big garden and helped keep the farm going. Eva also started a catering business with her daughter-in-law Vickie, retiring from that at age 65. After moving from the farm in 1971, Marven and Eva lived in Elm Creek, then moved to Winnipeg. After Marven's passing, Eva moved to Parkview Manor in Carman and then to the Boyne Lodge. Community service and volunteering were always a big part of her life. The Tracy Homemakers Club, UCW and Eastern Star were some of the organizations that she was very involved in. Eva and Marven were both very active members of the Scandinavian Club where she learned Norwegian for their trip to Norway. In her later years, Eva kept sharp by completing puzzles and crosswords. She was also a voracious reader and the Boyne Library kept her well supplied with reading material. Always a caring, gentle person, Eva will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. The Pedersen family would like to thank the many visitors she had while living at Boyne Lodge. Eva's family also sends a special thank you to the Boyne Lodge staff for the care and compassion they gave Eva and to Doyle's Funeral Home for their professional service. A Private Family Celebration of Eva's life will be held at a later date as per Eva's wishes. In Memoriam donations can be made to: Boyne Lodge Building Fund; the Boyne Library; or the Carman and Area Foundation R.M. of Grey Fund. Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. www.doylesfuneralchapel.com
