MARTHA MORRISON It's with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Martha H. W. Morrison (formerly Slater). She passed away quietly on Thursday February 2, 2017, in the comfort of her favourite chair, at West Park Manor Personal Care Home. Martha was born in Dalmuir Scotland on December 27, 1920 and came to Canada with her parents when she was three years old. Martha is predeceased by her husband John William and her daughter Colleen. She is survived by her son William John (Julie) Morrison of Kelowna; grandchildren, Debbie-Joy (Randy) Neufeld of Winnipeg and Douglas John Morrison of Toronto. She was also a great-grandmother to Kristyn Elizabeth (Chris) and Rickey John (Carleena) both from Winnipeg. Her five great great-grandchildren, lovingly called her GG; Bailey, Cassidy, Morgan, Danica and Walker. Her grandchildren were always the centre of her world. "Don't throw that away! Your dad will fix it! It's perfectly fine." That was one of her favourite things to say whenever we would go to clean up her apartment. She always had something to say whether it was positive, or negative. Martha had no filter and everyone who knew her would lovingly agree. She's always loved a good banter with my father. (Sometimes she'd raise her fist and shake it at him) This always made me chuckle inside. She never let you pay the bill at a restaurant and if you argued she would say, "I'll give you a clout in the head" and snatch the bill away. We all will cherish every memory, and remember how she lit up any room she walked in to. Family close friends will take part in a scattering of her ashes at Falcon Lake in the spring/summer. This was a place she loved to spend her summers at. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation her name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
