ANN CLEMENT DUFFIELD
Date of Passing: Feb 01, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN CLEMENT DUFFIELD (nee MALCOLM) 1922 - 2017 We sadly announce the passing of Ann on February 1, 2017 at Centre Tache in Winnipeg. She was 94. Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Janice Duffield, daughter Ann Lauchlan, grandchildren Meghan, Lindsay, Anna, and Jennifer and great-grandchildren Ruby and Yona as well as several nieces and nephews in Britain. Ann was predeceased by her husband Derek, her brothers Tom and Willie Malcolm and her son-in-law Kenneth. Ann was born in Dumbarton, Scotland. When memory allowed she liked to reminisce about her war experiences - first in the Land Army where she learned to milk goats and later in the regular British forces where she helped to type orders for D-Day and met her future husband, an Englishman. Typical of many women of her generation, Ann started her married life as a homemaker and mother. In 1967, the family moved to Neepawa in time for Canada's centennial celebrations. Eventually Ann rejoined the workforce as a teacher's aid at Hazel M. Kellington School in Neepawa and, after a move to Rivers, as an administrative assistant at Oo-Za-We-Kwun Centre until her final move to Winnipeg in 1981. She was an avid reader, knitter, sewer and dog lover. Sadly Mum's final years were spent in the darkening clouds of dementia before her final illness. Many thanks to all the staff on 5AB at Centre Tache for their kind and thoughtful care over her last years. Cremation has already taken place. If so desired donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Society or the Winnipeg Humane Society. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
