Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES MCEACHERN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James McEachern on February 3, 2017 at the Kipnes Center for Veterans in Edmonton, AB, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Jim was born to Colin and Mary on March 19, 1920 in Winnipeg, MB and was later joined by younger brother, John. Jim proudly served as a Sergeant with the RCAMC, regimental #H.35792, on the T.S.S "Letitia" in the Second World War. Jim found the love of his life, Angeline, and married in 1946. They were soon joined by sons, Colin and Brian. After the military, Jim worked until retirement at Public Markets Ltd. He was an active member of the St. Vital United Church, serving as treasurer for a period of time. After losing his first wife to cancer, Jim was lucky to find love a second time with Gladys, with whom he enjoyed many trips to Hawaii. In 2000, Jim relocated to Edmonton to live with his brother and sister-in-law, where he remained for the last phase of his life. Jim is remembered for his kindness, huge heart, jolly laugh, his love of good shortbread and the giant smile he often wore. He is survived by son Colin; grand-daughters Shannon and Jessica; great-grandchildren Trey, Cassidy and Delaney; daughters-in-law Marie and Irene and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by son Brian; first wife Angeline; second wife Gladys; stepson Gordon; brother John and sister-in-law, Fern. Special appreciation to nieces and nephew Cheryl, Darlene, David and family in Edmonton for their love and compassion shown to our Dad and Grandpa in his later, more difficult years. A private family interment to take place. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
