DON PLAYFAIR With profound sadness the family of Don Playfair announce his passing on February 12, 2017. With his family by his side, Don Playfair, husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly at St. Boniface Hospital. He will be immeasurably missed by his wife Maureen, son Dan (Tiffany) and daughter Erin (Blair). He will be lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren Aidan, Luca, Aurora, Isla and Lochlan. He will also be missed by father-in-law Alvin Trann; and many family and friends. Don grew up in Charleswood and attended the University of Manitoba achieving a Master's Degree in Education. Don was a teacher and administrator in Lac du Bonnet, Powerview and at the University of Winnipeg. Don loved travel, the cottage in Lac du Bonnet, golf, curling and was an avid fan of the Bombers and the Jets. Recently, he took up lawn bowling and pickle ball as he loved to be active. Most of all, Don loved to spend time with his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made, in Don's memory, to ALS Canada. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery).
