Date of Passing: Feb 15, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNADA-BELLE BELL 1925 - 2017 On February 15, 2017, bathed in the sunshine at her new home at Middlechurch Personal Care Home, Mom peacefully started her journey to heaven with her family around her. Mom was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1925 to Arabella and Arlo Johnston. She grew up on the family farm near Ninga, MB along with by her four siblings, Naome, Dellas, Borden and Harmona, who all predeceased her. In 1945, after the end of the Second World War, she met a dashing soldier named William Bell, and within two and one half months they were married on January 18, 1946. It definitely was love at first sight! They were married for 67 years living in the same home on Bannerman Avenue, where they were blessed with a neighbourhood of close and lasting friendships. Dad predeceased Mom on his 96th birthday on March 12, 2013. Mom felt blessed with the birth of her two sons, William Bell Junior (Nenita) and Dennis Gordon (Marleen). We would also like to mention Barry Gillies, because to her, and our family he was like a third son. Mom leaves six grandchildren, Angela, Sheri (Keiko), Paul (Veronica), Adrian (Janellyn) and Alvin (Rochel), and seven great-grandchildren. Mom was a woman of many talents, but most of all she knew how to love, and be kind and generous to others. She was an amazingly supportive wife, mother and grandmother, her family truly was her whole world. Some of her many talents included gardening, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and nurturing beautiful perennial beds. In later years she so enjoyed doing puzzles together with her friends at Devonshire House, where she resided for four years. Mom made so many great "new" friends in her last few years, and especially loved all the attention and friendship she received from all of her Homecare workers. These caring people made it possible for Mom to stay in her assisted living suite right up until close to her passing. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The War Amps of Canada at: http://www.waramps.ca/home/ or by mail to 2827 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1V 0C4, or a charity of your choice. Heaven has received a special angel in so many ways. her kind heart and soul her smile that lite up the room even when she was in pain or hurting. She loved to hug and what a great hugger she was. I am a staff member at the assisted living house she lived in but she was way more to me than just a resident she was my friend. Thank you Nada for many special talks and thank you for always making me feel like I was part of your family. May you be in no pain and shine down on all of us until we meet again rest my dear I love you deeply ... - Posted by: lynn (friend) on: Feb 25, 2017
