Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDELL PARTYKA February 28, 1931 - February 22, 2017 We are sad to announce that Idell (Dell) passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital on the morning of February 22, 2017, after a short illness. Dell grew up on Polson Avenue in Winnipeg, with her close and loving family unit, who all predecease her - parents George and Violet Gray, brothers Earl (Myra), Jack (Cecile), Doug (Olivia), and sister Violet (Jack). She leaves to mourn her son Gray Partyka (Kelley), as well as many nieces and nephews. Dell is also predeceased by her loving husband Walter Partyka "Wally". They met while he was driving a taxi, and married on April 28, 1956. In 1961 their son Gray was born and they lived together for many happy years on Burrows Avenue. Dell worked various jobs starting at the Grain Exchange, and eventually finished her working years at the City of Winnipeg offices, until her retirement in 1989. During their retirement she and Wally loved spending time together, especially their drives to Lockport and travelling to the US. After Wally passed away in 1996, Gray continued to take Dell on the drives and she also spent much of her time with Doug and Olivia, shopping together and having hot dogs at Zellers. Dell loved gardening and her favourite thing to do was spend time in the back yard at her son and daughter-in-law's, enjoying the plants, flowers, BBQ, dog and cats. She spent a lot of time knitting and after knitting amazing Afghans for everyone, she moved on to knitting small blankets to donate for the cat shelters. Dell loved singing, spending many years singing in church groups and in her early years even recorded an album and sang for military service members. She also volunteered for many years at Holy Family Nursing Home where she enjoyed making perogies and spending time with the residents, especially on holidays. We would like to thank the staff in Elm Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge who were all wonderful to her. Interment has taken place and a private family memorial will be held at a later date. "Mom, we will miss you so very much, and know that you are at peace and with Dad again." Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Gray and Kelley. Jim, Caitlyn, Ashleigh and I loved visiting your parents on Burrows. I especially enjoyed seeing your mom's eyes light up when Bingo our dog came in. "Auntie Dell" was such a kind, gentle woman. - Posted by: Connie Hawrysh (relative) on: Mar 21, 2017

When I heard of my Auntie Dell-sy passing, I was sad and happy at the same time. Her soft heart will be with her Mom and the rest of the family she loved dearly. As a child, Auntie Dell and my Mom would talk about their gardens and the wonderful dinners our families shared when we were children. Those family gatherings enriched our values and showed us how to love our children, unconditionally. Loved you so much Auntie Dell, the last of the best! - Posted by: Susan Gray (Niece) on: Mar 06, 2017

My Aunt Dell was one of the kindest, sweetest women I've ever known. She was my father Doug's baby sister and they adored each other. Dell spent many happy hours with Doug and my mother Olivia. Dell and I weren't that far apart in age and we were like girlfriends. Going shopping, out for dinner, etc. I paid for a trip for her to visit me here in Tucson, AZ and I called her faithfully every week for years. I'll miss her terribly. My deepest condolences to Gray and Kelley. - Posted by: Jamie Norton (Niece) on: Mar 04, 2017
