GEORGE ALBERT SINGBEIL December 30, 1925 - February 28, 2017 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of George Singbeil peacefully at Bethania Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the age of 91. George is survived by his cherished daughters, Druanne Naayen (Les Klusoczky) and Brenda McCartin (Allan); granddaughter Kristin Naayen; by his second family of grandchildren Randi Wilson (Ryan, great-grandchildren, Jaxx and Alexxis), Rikki Klusoczky and Reggi Klusoczky. Many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends join in mourning his passing. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Drucilla Andrea Singbeil (nee Burns); his mother and father William and Martha Singbeil (Felske); brother Roy Singbeil (Joan); sisters Edith Loeppky (John), Elizabeth Webb (Darcy), Elsie Kerr (Jim) and Irene Waite (Tom). George was born, grew up, married and raised his children in Winnipeg. He was a hard worker, a loving, caring and gentle person. Family was very important to him. He would be there for you, do anything for you, no matter what. He also had a great sense of humor. George was a lover of children and animals, he dabbled in oil painting, loved woodworking and gardening, bowling, loved singing, sang in the church choir and was an awesome Mr. Fix-It. He also enjoyed many years at the family cottage at Victoria Beach. In his later years enjoyed country drives, jig-saw puzzles, colouring and word search. Before marriage and during the war years, he worked at Dominion Bridge and was in the Reserves as a driving instructor. He then joined the printing trade, working at Reid & Eibner and then Wallingford Press and retired after 40 years of service. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethania and Misericordia Interim Care for all their support and wonderful care during his last months with us. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, CancerCare Manitoba or charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery 204-338-7111

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our sincere condolences, Brenda and Druanne at losing your father so soon after your mother. We always enjoyed the times we got to meet your parents on their trips to Ontario. May your good memories bring you comfort. - Posted by: Susan and George Magwood () on: Mar 07, 2017

  • Dear Duane, Brenda and family, I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to lose both so soon, but it is comforting to know they were not apart for long. I was unable to get to your Mom's service but will do my best to get there on Wednesday. Your parents were very special to my Mom and Dad and lucky enough to have known my Dad's first wife who I was too little to remember. Your Mom shared some old photos with me. She and Audrey became good friends seamlessly. So sorry for your loss, Patti Douglas - Posted by: Patti Douglas (Family friend) on: Mar 05, 2017

  • Druanne, my deepest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. May you find peace in remembering all the good times shared with your Mom and Dad. Josie - Posted by: Josie (Friend of Druanne) on: Mar 05, 2017
