JIM STEWART It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Stewart. On March 1, 2017 after a six month battle with cancer, Dad has left us. At 75 years old, it was too soon for us but, as everyone will know, Dad lived a good life. Jim is survived by Linda, his best friend and loving wife of 50 years and was a very proud and loving father to his three sons, Jonathon (wife Jodee, children Keenan and Connor), Scott (wife Daryla, children Adam, Nathan and James) and Matthew (wife CJay, children Zachary, Ryan and Lucas). He is also survived by is his loving sisters, Donna McNamara, Heather Roberts (husband Bryan) and brother-in-law Brian McNamara, and many nieces and nephews to whom he was a favourite uncle and extended family and countless friends. Jim was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, father-in-law, brother-in-law and friend to all. Dad was proud of Culligan Water, the family business that he took over from his dad and passed on to his sons. He enjoyed his summers in Kenora, winters in Palm Springs and Australia, and trips with the guys. Whether it was golf with buddies or having a pint with the Rownders, Dad was easily and often recognized by his smile, his great laugh and wonderfully easy going nature. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road, a reception at the church will follow. We'd like to thank the caring staff of the Riverview Healthcare Centre Palliative Care Unit, the nurses of Victoria Hospital Cancercare, Dr. Abdalla Rizk, Dr. Chris Ogaranko, Dr. Ralph Wong and Dr. Martin Karpinski, for all of their help, care and guidance over the past six months. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Riverview Healthcare Centre, Victoria General Hospital Cancercare and Children's Rehabilitation Centre. A valued friend of over 50 years. The smile tells all. Always positive and trusting. Willing to help anyone, anytime. I remember; the white Acadian convertible; Jim going from university to pick Linda up, after high school; Jim's tall, gentle father, leading three generations of Culligan men; a road trip to San Francisco; parties at 123 Grenfell Boulevard (the house survived); a constant Wildwood curler; very neat hair; the ready laugh. Mostly just a genuine, true, great person. Sorry to miss the celebration service, but very much enjoyed seeing him (with Linda) recently at the Mere Hotel. Very best wishes, to Linda and the boys. Hope to see you soon. Wonderful memories and traditions to carry onward. - Posted by: David Knight (Friend and fraternity brother) on: Mar 07, 2017

Linda: I was just advised of Jim's passing and wish to extend my sincerest condolences to you and your family. Jim was an honorable, open and gentle man, who had a great zest and love of life and living. That love was clearly evident in his unique smile and hearty laugh, which he shared frequently with friends and acquaintances. Jim's fine character will long-serve as enviable legacy for family and friends to cherish. Rest well Jim. - Posted by: Brad from Sudbury (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2017

30 years ago I worked for Jim at Culligan in Winnipeg. He was always interested in my goals, in what I did other than work; he was the all round firm but fair and supportive boss. I have always kept him in my memory bank; a good man and I send my condolences to the family. Dave Mowat - Alderville, Ontario - Posted by: Dave Mowat (Past employee) on: Mar 06, 2017

Jim' s passing provided some time to reflect on the years curling with him at the Wildwood Curling Club. We participated in many bonspiels and the trips to rural Manitoba remain positive memories. Jim had an impressive network of friends no matter where we went. His personality was contagious as he always had time for small talk as well as that smile and his sense of humour. Jim will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Bruce and Lynda Unfried - Posted by: Bruce Unfried (Friend) on: Mar 06, 2017

Joy & I met Jim & Linda on frequent winter trips to Palm Springs. Always enjoyed our cycling rides through PSP with Jim & the other Winterpeggers. Jim had that magic personality of welcoming new friends like old time buddies. We last saw Jim last June at Rainbow Stage, where he looked very well. So it was certainly a shock to read that Jim has left us. Sorry that we won't be able to attend the funeral, as we are vacationing in one of Jim's favourite destinations-Australia. - Posted by: Ron & Joy MacKenzie (Friends) on: Mar 04, 2017

We are very sorry and saddened for your loss. Jim was a very good inspiration for me when I first entered the water business and I have always been grateful for his powerfully positive influence in those early years. He was an amazing father to all three of you and always demonstrated what a great husband, father, and grandfather should be like. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours in this difficult time. - Posted by: Greg, Corinne and Family (Business Associate) on: Mar 04, 2017
