STANLEY HEAMAN It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my husband, Stan Heaman at Carman Hospital, the evening of March 6, 2017. Born in 1931, the son of Fred and Alma, Stan passed away very quietly and peacefully. We married in 1952 and had many, many years of happiness together. Together we farmed the family farm where Stan was a good farmer, always keeping up with new innovations. There wasn't a piece of equipment than came onto the farm that wasn't modified to his meet his specifications. Stan is survived by myself, Jessie and our son Gordon, also by two special girls, Janie Green, now a chiropractor in Minneapolis and Colleen Reimer, a retired nurse, both lifetime friends of our daughter Dianne and also of ours. He is also survived by his sister Gloria, her husband Jack and their family, Jessie's sisters, Shirley and Nancy and all their family members. He was predeceased by our daughter Dianne in 1975, she was 20 years old. Stan had many interests and enjoyed so many different things, among them being his involvement with the Manitoba Flying Farmers, his interest in antiques and enjoyment of the fellows in the Carman Car Club. He enjoyed seeing this continent, whether from the air in his plane, the seat of his motorcycle or driving a big semi on deliveries across North America. Stan lived and enjoyed life fully and will be missed by many. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church. Family interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation could be made to Alzheimer Research, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or Carman Palliative Care, Box 610, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. www.doylesfuneralchapel.com

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Jessie & Gordon - my sincere sympathy for your loss. I know how much your friendship meant to my parents, Dick & Eleanor Brown. Thinking about those great days of fly-ins and visits with you in Carman reminds me how Stan always seemed so calm and easy going. I always enjoyed his quick wit! You both have so many great memories of a life well - lived. - Posted by: Linda Brown (Family Friend) on: Mar 15, 2017

  • Jessie and Gordon, My sincere condolences at this difficult time in your lives. It is with great fondness I remember the friendship shared between my parents Dick & Eleanor and yourself and Stan. I especially remember Stan honouring my Dad as a pallbearer at his funeral and the support and strength we survivors felt that day from him. Although time and distance has passed, I will always remember Stan to be quick with a joke or a laugh and I'm sure he and my Dad are enjoying a laugh again.
