BEVERLEY SUE RICHMOND Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the age of 65 years, Beverley Sue Richmond, of Cypress River, MB. We are devastated that Sue, our beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, best friend and hero has left us. Sue was born July 18, 1951 and was a girl with determination pretty well from day one! She did everything with heart. There wasn't anything she could not fix or at least try to. She took great pride in the yard, we will miss her garden and her gladiolas. Sue delighted in sports from track and field and baseball, to the Cypress girls hockey team coached by dad and Bud back in the 1960s! She and Leanne spent countless hours on the lake trying to master the art of skiing. She revelled in the NFL and always cheered for the underdog. Her TV was on all night so she could listen to her favourite sports talk show. She also loved her cats, they were the luckiest cats in the world. She became a nurse, graduating from the Misericordia School of Nursing in 1971. She didn't go into nursing because she heard the "call", but rather because all her friends were going. Five of them graduated together that year. Her friends must have made a good choice in nursing as Sue went on to get her BN at Calgary and then her Masters in Nursing at the U. of M. Sue deeply valued and enjoyed the comradeship of her co-workers and patients at the Winkler, Swan Lake, Baldur, Glenboro and Wawanesa Health Centres during her nursing years. Sue also valued her visits with Chad and Trevor Wytinck. She thought the sun rose and set on you guys, and she was right! Here to cherish Sue's memory is her mother Edith and sister Janice; special auntie Kathleen Phillips; aunts and uncles, John and Dorothy Breckman, Bruce Breckman and Doreen Richmond. Sue also leaves very dear family friends, Leanne and Bud, Karen and Walter, and many other cousins and friends. Meeting Sue on the other side is her father Robbie and sister Robyn; grandparents, Gudmundur Johann "Joe" and Gertrude (nee Foster) Breckman and Gordon and Elizabeth (nee Holmes) Richmond. Aunts and uncles: Beverley Breckman, Ron Phillips, Shirley Breckman, Louise and Harold Simpson, Jean and Walter Drummond, Marie and Norman Sholdice, Grace and Roy Ames, Murray and Marg Richmond, Rowena and Bjorn Hallgrimson. As well as close friends and cousins: Lillian Van De Walle, Ian Sholdice, Betty Letby, Grant Drummond and Jake Rowley. Thanks to the staff at the Carberry and Brandon Hospitals. Very special thanks to Dr. Wong and the team at the Health Sciences Centre ICU for taking us under their wing and helping us through. To auntie Kathleen and Nola Praznik, there are no words, thank you so much for being there with us. Respecting Sue's wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the D'arcy's ARC Animal Rescue Centre, 730 Century St. B., Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1 or to a charity of one's choice. Online condolences can be made by visiting www.willmorchapel.com. Jamieson's Funeral Services of Glenboro in care of arrangements. 204-827-2480.
