Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLEY ANNE VIOLET JOYCE December 16, 1942 - March 10, 2017 It is with sorrow in our hearts, but joy for her soul, that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, aunt and friend, Beverley on the evening of March 10, after a difficult illness. A testament to Beverley's grace and her caring nature were the many friends, family and colleagues who came to her bedside to visit. Beverley graduated from high school in Flin Flon, MB and then began her training as a registered nurse at St. Boniface General Hospital. She worked in various departments, including as head nurse for heart surgery, and in the mental health field at McEwen House after completing a master's degree. She and Alvin Gervais, the love of her life, were married on July 10, 1993 - the perfect union of two special souls. Beverley will be forever loved and missed by her sister, Claudia Schmidt, and her nephews Christopher, Eric, Jonathon (Mary Agnes) and David Schmidt; by her stepmother, Ruby Joyce; and by Alvin's siblings Pearl, Eva (Ray), Alma (Léo), Armande (Doyle), Allan (Mary) and Christine (Kathy); and by the many loving and caring Gervais nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 17 at the St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Road. An interment will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made in Beverley's name to a charity of one's choice. "May the wind be always at your back." Desjardins 204-233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca

I was sad to hear of Bev's passing. She supported and influenced so many people. You always knew she was there for you like a rock. She and her family are in my thoughts. - Posted by: Lindsay Reynolds (Friend/former co-worker) on: Mar 17, 2017

I worked with Bev for many years , on the ward , in groups , meetings, what ever it was , she had a way of making everyone feel supported, that what they were doing or saying was of utmost importance. Always there to lend an ear no matter what was going on. I was so happy for her when she met Alvin because I think she felt he not only complimented but completed her. She was missed when she left McEwen. My condolences to her family and close friends , she was a special lady. - Posted by: Maureen King (Co worker) on: Mar 16, 2017

We were good friends with Claudia and Beveverly. We always see her at the stampede grounds with Claudia during when it is stampede time helping out. We always got her coffee when she was helping Claudia with the gates at the stampede. - Posted by: Emery falk& Christine klassen (Friends) on: Mar 16, 2017

Beverley and I worked together many years and she was a dear friend. I have fond memories of running groups with her, laughing together and, processing a slew of strange anxiety cases that seemed to congregate from time to time. She was a special woman and I will miss her! - Posted by: Jason Ediger (former colleague) on: Mar 15, 2017

Aaaawwww, so sorry to hear of Beverley's passing. My condolences to you Claudia and your sons. So many happy memories are flooding back especially our trips to Assinboine park when the children were small. What a hoot we had with our strollers on parade! Sorry I wasn't too good at keeping in touch after I moved out to the coast....... life gets in the way and off we go doing our things. May your memories be comforting.
