Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIGISMUND (SIGI) REDMANN March 5, 1935 - March 13, 2017 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Sigi Redmann, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Irmgard, son Gordon (Karen), daughter Korina (Corey), grandsons Mitchell and Cole Redmann, sisters Elsie (Guenther), Margret, and Erika (Fred). Predeceased by his parents Rudolf and Lydia, son Robert (1972), and brother Erik. Sigi was born in Wartegau, Poland, immigrating to Canada with his family at age 16. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Irmgard and they were married three years later. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. In 1957, they welcomed their first child Robert, then Gordon in 1961, and Korina in 1974. Sigi had a long and successful career in the clothing industry, which spanned over 50 years, and resulted in his managing production in several large factories. Sigi enjoyed and excelled at soccer, winning several championships as both player and coach. He also loved the sport of hockey and was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens! He loved to watch and support Gord in the years he played as well. His attempt to teach Korina to skate, unfortunately was unsuccessful! Sigi and his family spent many years enjoying the family farm in Gimli that Irmi bought as a 16 year old girl, where many milestones and events were celebrated with vigor. He enjoyed creating and building and had a hand in many projects, both big and small. He worked tirelessly alongside Irmgard, to help their children realize their dreams at their homes in the city and Lake of the Woods. Sigi had a great sense of humour and loved a good joke and laugh. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching his "boys" Mitchell and Cole with pride, grow and become young men. We will love you forever and you will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Opi. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, 12:00 noon at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations can be made in Sigi's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
