Born: Nov 14, 1933
Date of Passing: Mar 10, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY (MARIA) CONNOLLY (nee FEDOROWICH) November 14, 1933 March 10, 2017 Mary passed away peacefully in the Selkirk General Hospital, after a very short and unexpected illness. She was born in Winnipeg to Anna and Stephen Fedorowich, and was the second eldest of five siblings. During her young life she was active at St. John's Tech and the Young People's group of St. John's United church. It was through this church that she would meet her future husband's parents and eventually Bernie himself. When Bernie returned from the Korean War, he was introduced by his mother to Mary in 1952 and they have been together ever since, marrying on May 9, 1953. Their marriage of just shy of 64 years, produced sons, Donald Allan and Terrence Grant, who would be taken away suddenly in a tragic accident at the age of six. Mary held several jobs during her life: A&W, Great West Life, Bristol Aerospace and in 1962 she started at CBC, where she held a variety of positions until she retired in 1993. During her working years she made numerous lifelong friends. Mary had several passions in her life. Family was always first but she enjoyed reading, travelling, gardening, cooking, family scrapbooking, photography and relaxing at her cabin. The cottage at Lakeshore Heights was a place to enjoy nature, nourishing her soul. Her flower gardens brought her much pleasure. She was blessed with two sweet granddaughters, Colleen, who was born on what would have been Terry's 30th birthday, and Shannon, who is Grandpa's shadow. She leaves to mourn her, husband Bernie; son Don (Lynne); granddaughters, Colleen, Shannon; sister Pat, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family overseas. She was predeceased by her precious little guy Terry (1962); father (Stephen); mother (Anna); brothers, Dennis and Edward; sister Julie; nephews, Fred and James; in-laws, Henry and Lily Connolly, Pat and Alex Cross, and most recently Leonard Connolly. We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Selkirk General Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for helping to make Mary's last days, peaceful ones. In lieu of flowers and to honour her memory, she requests that people do something kind to someone less fortunate. A Celebration of Life is to be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West Saint Paul. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

I only spent a few times with Mary when I visited her sister Pat. She was a very sweet and friendly soul and I thought of her and Bernie often through out the years. I am truly blessed to have known her if only for a few brief moments. My heartfelt condolences to her family and I will be praying and thinking of you all. Take care. - Posted by: Rosemary Charron (Friend of Pat's) on: Mar 20, 2017
