VALERIE WILSON Peacefully, and gracefully, on March 11, 2017, with her family by her side, Valerie lost her battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Brian. Valerie leaves behind her loving children: Jeffrey and Susan, along with a long list of relatives that include family in Canada and the UK. Valerie came from Manchester, England in 1967, starting her career as a nurses aide, finishing her working career as a Jeweller. She retired when she was 65 years old and spent the rest of her days travelling with her beloved children and attending concerts and casino events. Val also loved to garden and spending her time with loved ones. She was a joyous and giving person always putting others before herself and always putting a smile on their faces. She cared greatly for her children as they were her greatest treasure. We would like to thank Dr. Harris and staff at Grace General Hospital, Oncology; Dr. Gilroy and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Palliative Care; as well as her family doctor, Dr. Gavin Roach, who always gave her the greatest of care. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to CancerCare Manitoba in loving memory of Valerie Wilson. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
