FRANK SHYNKARCHUK On the first day Spring, with the birds singing and sun shining, the angels reunited Dad with Mom. Born October 26, 1921 in Kreuzburg, MB (Fraserwood), Frank farmed, served his country and married Anne (Palmarchuk) on June 16, 1950. Together they raised their family and farmed. He enjoyed hunting, was a school trustee, helped with the Fraserwood cemeteries, moved to Gimli in 1974 and worked for Manitoba Highways until 1986 when he retired. In retirement he helped with seeding / harvest on our farms, any projects we had and worked at Giesbrecht's Sales. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and following every sport. Frank treasured his family, friends and neighbours, always there to lend a hand and share a laugh! He leaves to mourn daughter Gladys (Ben) Graboweski, son Perry, grandchildren Rosalyn (Tom) Bauer, and Mark, great-grandchildren Lydia and Brandt; in-laws, Helen Shynkarchuk, Victoria Huewan, Gary Gelinas, Ollie (Ed) Pomarenski, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his wife Anne, twin daughters Judy and Florence, parents Nick and Lena, and siblings Mike, Pete, Jessie Ratkowski and Elsie Wasyliw. Many changes came for Dad with his health since July 2016. Thank-you to Arborg Personal Care Home, Dr. Akinpelu and staff, Gimli Community Health Centre, Dr. R. C. Patel and staff; you all became his new family and friends, we are so grateful. To all who visited him, many hugs. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbart Gimli Funeral Chapel.
