Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Since I was very young you taught me many skills I had no idea I would find so useful. I’m glad I took interest in helping with repairing and maintaining a house and tinkering with bikes and broken electronics. You taught me well. All things you learned from generations of hardship we seldom heard about. Memere taught me so much about our heritage and medicine and nature I feel so blessed that she chose me and that I’m now able to share with the others. On peut maintenant dire avec fierete qu’on est Metis. Tu n’as jamais ete capable de le dire toi meme avec fierete. Je t’ame et tu me manques “ben gros” thanks to the skunk oil that kept you breathing on the day you were born. Thankful you had a life of 76 years past that day when the doctor gave the prognosis you would not live til that first night. Thanks to traditional native teachings we are here. You were here. We miss you dad, mom misses you. The lone goose honked really loudly when we went to see you today. It was as though he was announcing from you that you are ok and don’t worry. Le revenant cette fois ci c’est toi en forme d’un jars (goose) Memere’s stories were true we do come back - Posted by: Vandal family (Immediate family) on: Mar 16, 2025

  • Our prayers and thoughts are with you Auntie Lea. I remember most when you would come b to visit when we lived on the corner of Tache and Hebert and Uncle Leny was driving a new Corvair he sure loved those Corvairs. Love you and Him sitting around singing was always nice even as far back as the back yard on St. Mary's Rd. - Posted by: Andre & Evelyn Tousignant (Nephew ) on: Apr 05, 2017

  • Our deepest sympathies to Lea and family on the loss of Lionel. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. They were one of the best neighbors we had on Notre Dame Street. We were sad to see them move away. We remember Lionel sitting outside singing and playing guitar and Lea always by his side. Great couple! - Posted by: Robert and Alice Roy (Former neighbors in St. Boniface ) on: Apr 01, 2017
