Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD ELWOOD VADER It is with heavy hearts we announce that on March 29, 2017, at the age of 85, Donald Elwood Vader passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Born in Bancroft, ON, he was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Sarah Jane Vader, and sister Audrey. He is survived by his wife Margaret Vader; sister Ruth; Son Dale (Sandra); grandchildren, Colleen Larocque (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Breanna and Michelle; brother-in-law Ron (Darlene) and his extended Ontario family. Don served as member of the FOE #23 for 54 years. He was an active member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler and curler. Don loved bingo and sports, always cheering on the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bombers, and Toronto Blue Jays. In his later years along with wife Margaret, Don was a constant traveler, going to places such as the Caribbean. Donald was very thankful and proud for the family and friends throughout his lifetime. It is very important to him that we thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital that had a hand in making him very comfortable in his final days. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvin Presbyterian Church on 95 Keewatin Street. Margaret, I was very sorry to hear of Don's passing. It was so nice to meet him a year ago, and also last November, and to be reacquainted with you too after all these years.
