JULIE EVA JACOBS (nee MISURKA) September 28, 1945 - March 22, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Julie Jacobs; cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; at the age of 71 after a lengthy illness on March 22, 2017, at St. Boniface Palliative Care, surrounded by loved ones. Julie will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ken; her children, Krista (Ricky) Zimmermann and Joanne (Sean) Darams; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Tyler) Bowerman, Jesse (Cory) Zimmermann, Shandi Sinclair, Kurt Darams, Joshua Darams and Alexander Darams; and her great-grandchildren, Angel Sinclair and Jayde Jeffrey. Julie was born in Winnipeg on September 28, 1945. She grew up on the family farm in Elma, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg where she attended the Angus School of Commerce and became a legal secretary. She met her husband Ken at a family dinner at that time. Ken and Julie were wed on October 7, 1967 and blessed with two daughters Krista and Joanne. Julie worked for Welcome Wagon for 27 years where she enjoyed meeting new families and new babies with an ever present smile. Julie loved going to the beach and the theatre. She also loved to knit, quilt and make costumes for her children and grandchildren. Julie enjoyed making gingerbread houses for family to decorate at her house at Christmas time. This is where she excelled, entertaining family and friends. Julie's open door policy was legendary. Everyone was always welcome. She will be genuinely missed by all who knew her. We will miss her always. The family wishes to thank the staff at CancerCare and St. Boniface Palliative Care for their wonderful compassion during her illness. Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Private interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
