GIORGIO DI BERNARDO October 3, 1932 - March 26, 2017 It is with much sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Giorgio will be remembered by his wife of 53 years, Maria Pia; children, Vincenzo (Mona), Carlo, Dino (Debbie), Lora, Lorenzo, Luciano (Maureen); grandchildren, Aceel, Duaa, Izzy, Brayden, Gabriella, Jenna, Katarina. Sisters in Italy, Cecilia, Giovanna and Sestina. Giorgio was born in San Giorgio, Teramo, Italy. At an early age he left the farm to work in Germany alongside his brothers Domenico and Giuseppe. He arrived in Winnipeg July of 1964 to start a new life. Reunited with his fiance Maria, he married and started his family. Giorgio worked with various construction firms on notable projects over the many years until his retirement. In retirement Giorgio enjoyed gardening, wine making and frequent trips back to his home town. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital Emergency for the kindness, compassion and care shown to our family. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Viewing and condolences will begin at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Holy Angel Mausoleum in Green Acres Cemetery, located at Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road.
