HENRY BOS It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Henry on March 29, 2017, at the age of 70. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sabina Ries; mother Catharine Bos; brothers John and Ted (Sharon) and family; sister Elizabeth Lankhout; niece Anita Kiernicki (Ken) and daughters Cassandra and Marissa; nephews Ron Lankhout (Darcy) and daughters Brylee and Mikayla; Gary Bos (Jen); Cory Bos and son Liam; and his family in the Netherlands; and his dearest friend Heather Moore. Henry was born in the Netherlands on November 4, 1946, and at the age of nine his family immigrated to Canada, but so did his love for soccer (football). He played at various levels which included travelling in Canada and the United States. He followed his overseas football faithfully and enjoyed a good discussion on styles, players, and national teams. His only disappointment was that his homeland never won the World Cup, but he would always qualify that by saying "why is it that the Netherlands are remembered more for losing the 1974 Cup than Germany winning it." His love for nature and the four legged friends was a big part of his life and included Meggie, Annie, Mohrle, Onyx, Muffin, Thistle and more recently his buddy Bart. The family would like to thank Dr. Kumar, his nurse Jackie and the many health care professionals both at CancerCare Manitoba and the Gimli Memorial Hospital, including the many blood donors who save and comfort so many lives every day. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Henry's wishes there will be no funeral service. Donations in Henry's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Room ON1160, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0V9.
