Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES BALDWIN (nee BRERETON) February 16, 1930 - March 28, 2017 Peacefully, with family by her side, Frances Irmgard Baldwin died on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Oakview Place at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Skafti "Bud" Carl Baldwin, in 2004. She is survived by her five children and nine grandchildren, John (Karen) Baldwin, Aimee and Megan; Tannis (Brandt) Danino, Ryan (Courtenay), Kyle and Tyler: Carla Baldwin, Zachary: Craig Baldwin; and Catherine (David) Filmon, Spencer, Stefanie and Jack. Fran also leaves behind her brother Ronald Brereton, her niece, nephews and many friends. Frances was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Henny Brereton (nee Hagen) of Hamburg, Germany and Thomas Brereton originally from Kerdiffstown, Ireland. At the age of eight she traveled with her mother and brother to Germany to visit relatives and was not permitted to leave until after the war. They were reunited with her father in Winnipeg in the spring of 1946. She spent the rest of her life in Winnipeg. Frances loved to be around people and was always ready to laugh and play games. Fran was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren gave her endless joy. She was an avid lover of animals and instilled this in her children. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service celebrating the life of Frances will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue.
