CHRISTINE MARY MCATEER It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Chriss McAteer on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the age of 64, at the Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish Chriss' memory are her daughters Heather (Mark) Leclerc and April (Christopher) Goodman; stepdaughters Shannon McAteer and Rebekka Stemp (Jason); grandchildren Allyson, Nathan, Sarah and Piper, Hadley and Lennyn; sisters Roslyn (Rick) Morag and Tammy; nephews Ross (Amanda), Jason (Veronica), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Scotland. Chriss was predeceased by her husband Russ; infant daughter Laura; parents Sam and Peggy; sister Sandy; uncle David, and her grandparents. Chriss resided in Gimli for many years and had many friends and great memories of her time there. She enjoyed meeting people and was never at a loss for words. Chriss had many jobs that included MTS, Home Daycare and Sobeys in Gimli. She enjoyed spending Monday nights at Belgium Club Bingo -anywhere Bingo was played, Chriss could be found. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care of Chriss, especially Paul and Helen. A Celebration of Chriss' Life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Norwood Community Centre, 87 Walmer Street, Winnipeg, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please wear something purple to honour Chriss. Shannon, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom, I only met her the once when I brought a bottle of wine to celebrate your father's life. She was such a friendly bubbly person. Easy to talk with, no one was a stranger to her just a new friend. My deepest sympathies for losing your mom , she was too young. Hope that Piper is doing okay. There was never a dull moment with Chriss in the room. She always had a smile or shared a laugh. She was like a Mom to us 'young kids' at IGA. Chriss would just light up when she shared stories of her grandbabies. All of you are in my thoughts! - Posted by: Heather Wozlowski () on: Apr 07, 2017

Dear April and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was absolutely one of my favourite and best customers at Kia. You always knew when Chriss was visiting because there was laughter in the showroom. She was a wild one for sure. She was a really great lady and she'll surely be missed by many.
