ELSIE JEAN MCINTOSH February 15, 1929 - April 13, 2017 On a sunny spring day, our beloved mom, grandma, grams and gamma Jean passed away following a brief illness and hospitalization. Mom was born in Brandon, Manitoba to Gertrud Schmied and raised in the Oak Lake area with family. Predeceased by her loving husband Bill, of 66 years, her grandson Scott McIntosh, and half brother Thomas McKinnon. Survived by daughters Charlene Wyenberg (Clint), and Lori McIntosh; son Ian McIntosh; grandchildren, Gregory, Alexander (Amanda), Kaitlyn, George, Katarina, Carly, Laura, and Evan; great-grandson Jaxson; sisters-in-law Betty (Marven) and Roz, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom and Dad raised their family in St. Vital and retired out to Elm Creek, MB. Mom worked at the Winnipeg Post Office for 21 years. She was the first part time shop steward and eventually first vice president of the union. She was a Girl Guide leader and an amazing sewer. Once in Elm Creek her volunteerism took over. She sewed over 10,000 items for CancerCare, made prayer shawls and lap quilts for veterans at Deer Lodge. She collected money for Alzheimers, belonged on the church committee and put on fundraisers and teas and supplied the decorations for each occasion. Mom always kept her mind active by doing crosswords and writing in a journal each night. She also belonged to the seniors club and walking club. Special thank you to the amazing doctors, nurses and support staff at Health Sciences Centre in SICU and surgical step down unit GA3. They gave Mom exceptional care right to her final moments. Thank you to Dr. Woo and Boundary Trails for their care of Mom. Cremation has taken place according to Mom's wishes. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Andrew's United Church, Elm Creek with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will take place in Elm Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Doyle's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. www.doylesfuneralhome.ca

I love you Gramma...and I miss you everyday. To me you could not have been a better Gramma then you ever were...I love you & I always will till the end of time. Thank you for coming to me in my dreams; I now know that my Gramma & Grandpa are holding each others hands once again and will never slip apart. I love you Gramma. You were a very strong woman & I still need you to keep me strong as you. When ever you need me I am here for you & when I need you, I need you. Kisses Gramma, and keep watching over me because I still need you. - Posted by: Carly McIntosh () on: Jan 22, 2018

You touched so many hearts in so many ways, Jean, and were such an amazing person. I was blessed beyond measure to have had you in my life for so many years. No one could have asked for a sweeter, spunkier, wonderful sister-in-law. Love now and for always......until we meet again. - Posted by: Marven and Betty Konzelman (Sister-in-law) on: Apr 19, 2017
