GERD AARON MOONIE NABESS Mahkwa Gazoongwedaagooze "Bear with a strong voice" October 23, 1994 - April 13, 2017 It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my heart of gold, my son, Gerd Aaron Moonie Nabess, 22 years old, from Berens River, MB / Winnipeg, MB. He was a loving brother, an amazing uncle, polite grandson, kind cousin, and inspirational friend. He was predeceased by his grandmother Alma Sinclair, step-grandmother Simone Bernier, great-grandfather Gerard Patrick, great-grandmothers Betsy Patrick, Aurilla Thickfoot, and Beatrice Wilson, Uncle Bryden Sinclair, great-uncle, Burnell Sinclair, cousins Dennis Sinclair and Aaron Nabess. He leaves to mourn his mother Alma and dad Marc Bernier, father Emil Nabess, maternal grandfather Lloyd Sinclair and paternal grandmother Marge Nabess, sisters Meagan Sinclair, Chelsea Steele, and Darcy Muchikekwinap, brother Keenan Lea, and many aunts and uncles too many to mention. Gerd loved his family especially his niece Zuri. Gerd was a quiet, respectful boy who was soft spoken and helpful to anyone in need with no expectation of anything in return. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and spending time with family. He liked to listen to music and play on-line games as well as watch Trailer Park Boys. He was very proud when he finally got his licence, but not nearly as proud as when he got his first vehicle, a truck from his dad Marc he received as a birthday gift. He was gone a lot more often after he got his wheels, he was always cruising in his "whip" with his "bros" as he called them. Gerd started working many jobs in the construction industry and had plans to return to school to complete his education. He worked as a roofer for a handful of companies and Great West Railway for almost a year. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved being employed. He threw the word "love" around freely because he always wanted people to know what they meant to him. Only God knows what your job here on earth was, but it was done and I will forever hold you dearly in my heart and the hearts of your family and friends. My baby boy, Gerd. Wake service will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at the Eternal Grace Funeral Home, 1111 Logan Ave., Winnipeg. Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Friday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Tom Novak officiating. Cremation to follow. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers. Eternal Grace Funerals (204) 505 - 4559 www.eternalgrace.ca

  • This is a very said thing to come home too I went to rehab to get my life together. He always made me feel good even when I was very sad and he did that to everyone. He really always talked about how much he loved his mother and never wanted to disappoint her and how proud of a son he is have such a strong caring woman as his mother and niece Zuri, he always said I love her and how beautiful, smart she is and will always be there to protect her. Now he's her angel and loves talking with her and the dog so cute, little black dog he couldn't get enough of he would sleep with the dog make sure the dog was on the bed when he went to bed. He had a very big heart it's too much for me to attend his funeral. I just found out it brings tears to my eyes. I'm so so sorry to the family if there is anything I can do please let me know I know it doesn't sound like much. I know the family is Very strong. Prayers for the family. May Gerd rest easy in Heaven and he's now your angel! Love : Cally L - Posted by: Cally lester (His ex girlfriend ) on: Apr 21, 2017
