Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYNNE BASHUSKI January 10, 1962 - April 14, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce that Lynne Bashuski passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Remaining to cherish Lynne's memory are her loving husband Lorand, of 16 years; son Victor Toth (Marisa); her brother Darryl Shepherd; her mother-in-law Verna Bashuski; her brothers-in-law Richard Bashuski (Alice) and Brendon Bashuski (Candace); and her two nieces, Olivia Bashuski and Tabitha Bruins; as well as numerous cousins and friends. Lynne was predeceased by her parents Dave and Marjorie Shepherd, and her sister-in-law Mavis Shepherd. Lynne worked as a nurse for some 30 years until she got sick. She loved nursing and was quite upset when she had to retire due to illness. She also loved to entertain and make big meals for company, especially "her group." An assortment of pets also kept Lynne quite happy. Her last six years were spent in Deer Lodge after a stroke. She endured her illness with great courage and strength. Many thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge for the wonderful and loving care they gave her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward's Church, 836 Arlington St. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Reception and Interment to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. My condolences to Lynn's family. She was an amazing person, a wonderful nurse and a lady of great strength. She didn't complain about the many health issues she suffered. I remember her as having a smile and a cheerful word. She was very proud of her son Victor. I lived out of province and wasn't able to visit. She will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Arlene Claman (Friend and co worker) on: Apr 23, 2017

I worked with Lynne as a part of a larger team at the Misericordia for about 10 years. She always seemed to me and others as a very intelligent woman, who loved her husband and son very much. She was not dealt an easy hand in life with health issues. For all the suffering she endured in this life, I wish her peace in the completion of her life journey. - Posted by: Catherine Lee (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2017

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Lynne. She was one of my childhood's neighbourhood friends. I was an 'interloper'. I did not live on Bedson St but my best friend did and her friends accepted me. They all lived across from the elementary school. Being slightly older than me, I looked up to Lynne for 'mature guidance'. That was my first mistake. Lynne was older and she did have the knack of acting mature when required...but she had a blythe spirit inside her and loved nothing more than a good giggle. Many hot, lazy afternoons were spent under the shade of the school or the oak trees on Bedson elementary grounds, having picnics, telling tales, reading, playing games.....spending hours contemplating why none of us were electrocuted when we sat on the school transformer; even though it said 'danger'.... It is such a shame how we all have to grow up and move away from all the things that make you, you. Lynne was one of the people that made me who I am: infinitely patient, caring, kind. I modeled a lot of what came naturally to Lynne and I thank God that He gave me the short time we spent together. It left an indelible mark on my soul and ensures that she lives on, today. - Posted by: Wendy MacLeod (nee Smith) (Childhood friend) on: Apr 23, 2017

I remember Lynne as a hard worker, a big help in school activities. In recent years, I was amazed at her zest for life, in the most difficult of circumstances. And she continued to make the most of life: as in a memorable lunch at a nearby restaurant last summer. Lorand: I am sorry we cannot do that again. Dearest Lynne, ...I loved you like the sister I never had... I will remember all the great times we shared when I have my morning tea from the 'giant pink teapot' you bought me so very very long ago. Goodbye my dear, sweet, beautiful friend- you will be deeply missed. Rest now, you are finally home and free of pain. Carol and family xo - Posted by: Carol (friend) on: Apr 23, 2017
