MEINDERT JOHANNES BONEKAMP On Thursday, April 20, 2017 peacefully, surrounded by family, Meindert's earthly journey ended. Amid prayers and tears, the family said goodbye. Meindert always greeted everyone with a smile, a joke and had time to chat. He was happy to help wherever needed and there was nothing he couldn't fix. He loved a good game of Cribbage, camping and his dogs. However, his greatest love was for his family and the door was always open. He leaves a great legacy, his loving wife of 60 years Catharina; seven children, Nick, Margie, Jack (Kim), John (Connie), Felicia (Robert), Joseph (Jenn) and Rina (Roy) along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many in-laws. He is also survived by one sister Corrie (Nol) in the Netherlands. Prayers and Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Notre Dame du Laus Parish in Powerview, MB. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. with the Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father James Gray the celebrant. It is important to note that due to a severe allergy concern the family must insist that no fragrances be worn to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in his name, to CancerCare Manitoba. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the healthcare team at the Pine Falls Hospital for the excellent care and compassion provided to Meindert and the family. MEINDERT JOHANNES BONEKAMP Peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017 Meindert passed away at the age of 82, with his family by his side. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame du Laus Parish in Powerview, Manitoba. Prayers preceding the mass at 10:30 a.m. A longer obituary notice will follow on Monday April 24, 2017. NOTE: Services must be fragrance free due to severe family allergies.

Meindert was one of the nicest men I have known. I am fortunate to have known him, and to have called him a friend. He leaves a legacy in his children, (some more of the the nicest people I know).
