Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I have known Mr. Tully (easy on the Mister), since 1986, when I was transferred to Base Engineering on what is now 17 Wing. He was a very good friend, worker and Neighbour. Over the years, we would go to his farm and pick strawberries, receive pumpkins and any other type of vegetables he and Ella had growing on the farm...Both of them loved anybody's kids, especially if I brought them out...he enjoyed Life. He and I would go on day trips out towards his home land, visiting Hutterite Colonies and having lunch with them..he loved to talk about everything...he was so knowledgable...I really loved those days we were together...but, this past year, I did not take him on those day trips due to his health. I shall miss our conversations every day when he would go for the daily paper in his rubber boots, Winter or Summer...Laddie would just sit there until his stories were finished, which could take an hour or longer... He is a person who left a mark on his neighbourhood...he will be missed... Rest in Peace, Mr. Tully (easy on the Mister) - Posted by: Charles H Cameron CD (Friend...Neighbour...Co-Worker) on: Jun 06, 2017

  • I had the privilege of working with Mr. Tully for eleven years at CFB Winnipeg before his retirement where he shared his expertise with me in his knowledge of oil and gas fitting trade. Being raised on a farm I was delighted to hear his past stories growing up and enjoyed his company. Rest in Peace old friend. - Posted by: Donny Zahara ( ex co-worker) on: May 17, 2017

  • Sending out huge but gentle hugs and love to Aunty Ella and also to the rest of the family. We've shared many a good time visiting and celebrating life's special occasions together and Uncle Floyd will be sadly missed but forever loved. I have to add that Gary - you are an awesome loving, caring and thoughtful son and your Dad had to be sooooooo proud of you! Love Cindy, Christopher and Andy McRae - Posted by: Cindy McRae (Uncle) on: May 15, 2017

  • So sorry to hear of Floyd's passing. I remember Dad telling me about lots of things he and Floyd would get into when my parents visited Floyd and Ella in the city or out at the acreage. I especially remember a story involving some of Gary's pumpkins!! I will always appreciate the Tully's hospitality when they turned over their house to my Dad when he was taking Cancer treatments. A very kind family. We always treasured their visits to Goodlands as well. Hugs.....Cindy Janssens - Posted by: Cindy (Adams) Janssens () on: May 02, 2017

  • I remember family vacations each year to visit Uncle Floyd and Aunt Ella. We would all go out to the house in the country. Beautiful summer weather and exploring the farm. Uncle Floyd was such an awesome uncle he didn't even get mad when Sherri and I brought back a bunch of tree frogs and had them in the bathroom. Uncle Floyd would take my dad to Austin to see the big farm machinery at the festival each year which was very much enjoyed by him. Uncle Floyd was a warm, caring person and he will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to friends and family. - Posted by: Beryl Mayner (neice) on: May 01, 2017

  • Neighbor for many years. Always enjoyed talking to Mr. Tully when he was out walking. Had lots of good hints from him about growing strawberries. Will miss him. - Posted by: Fred King (Neighbor) on: Apr 29, 2017
