BERTHA DOREEN KNEESHAW (née JOHNSON) February 16, 1925 - May 1, 2017 Bertha Doreen Kneeshaw, 92, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2017, and entered her Heavenly home. She was predeceased by husband, Allan Henry, in 2014, and leaves to mourn daughters Lynn (Brent) Horrill and Judi (Rick) Chomiak, son Richard (Yvonne), grandchildren Chad (Tara), Jaimie (Brian), Melissa (Chad), Stacey (Tammy), Lindsay (Kendal), Cody (Eric), Ali (Kevin), and 14 great-grandchildren. Born in Elgin, MB, Doreen spent her growing years divided between Winnipeg and Carberry, MB. The oldest of 13, Doreen became an accomplished cook and baker from a young age, so family events centered around delicious, bountiful meals. Besides Allan, her home, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys. Doreen (affectionately known as Budge), and Allan were married in 1946 and resided in Winnipeg. They established a home built on a strong foundation of faith in Christ, attending Calvary Temple. Doreen loved travelling, fishing, flowers and her trailer at Pye's Landing, Clearwater Bay. An avid animal lover, Doreen doted on her cat, Bear. Thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, siloam.ca.
