JEAN STEIN 1934 - 2017 Jean Stein (née Komarnisky) passed away peacefully on April 29, 2017, at the age of 83. Her loving sister Sylvia and brother-in-law Wilmer were at her side. She is survived by her son Garry Antonio (Michèle), her sister Sylvia and brother-in-law Wilmer, along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Jean was born on April 8, 1934, in Mink Creek, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Art Stein. Although she was in fragile health during her final years, Jean still enjoyed the simple things in life and always tried to have a positive outlook. She would not want us to mourn her death, but rather to celebrate her life. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Our sincere thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital for their efforts in making her passing more comfortable. We also want to thank the staff at Heritage Lodge Retirement Home for the care and compassion they showed her. A service will be held on Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg.
