BRUCE MINTENKO Peacefully, on April 29, 2017, Bruce passed away, surrounded by his family, at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife, Deanna, children Angela, Bryan, and Anthony (Kim), and grandsons Arison, Egan, and Kai. Raised in Russell, Manitoba, he completed a BA from the University of Manitoba and a B.Ed from Brandon University. His teaching career took him to Roblin, La Riviere, Rivers, Shilo, Oakville, and Portage La Prairie, where he retired at Yellow Quill School in 1995. He raised his family in Oakville where he served on the town council, the Lions Club, and the Morrison Sports Park Committee. He received the Sports Person of the Year award in 1988 and the Oakville Citizen of the Year Award in 1994. We would like to extend our appreciation to the Boundary Trails doctors, nurses, and staff for the compassion, respect, and dignity shown to Bruce. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, May 4, 1:00 p.m. at the Oakville Hall. A private interment will follow at 4:00 p.m., at Greenwood Cemetery in Carman.
